My quest for genuine health began well before the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a sporadic effort, sometimes on and sometimes off. As I was professionally involved with a health education company, I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to attain true health. Still, the daily work pressure and my laid-back ways posed many challenges.

Also, for my health issues, I relied more on modern medicine and kept myself reliant totally on my doctors.

I kept dilly-dallying on making a solid decision to acquire proper health. My forays into the same were more for the sake of it rather than any serious endeavor. It was only after I faced grave health issues that I seriously decided to take advantage of working in the alternative health industry and walk down the path of acquiring proper health. And I did…

Ever since I can remember, like any commoner, I have been intrigued by and always wanted to equip myself with complete health and vitality.

Back in the day, it was all about having a ripped, muscular body to impress the girls, like a peacock showing off in a rainstorm. But then the harshness of reality came crashing down, raining misery on that once beautiful dream. Honestly, I wanted to become health-personified, but it only remained in my reveries and never bore fruit.

Also, despite suffering from low immunity for most of my life, my fascination with health information never waned. Though I lost sight of it in the hustle and bustle of life, I eventually rediscovered my passion. In my younger days, I gained better health through painstaking effort for a while after having been admitted to the hospital for a major health issue.

During that time, I rigorously adhered to a diet and exercise regimen (I joined a gym) that provided some assistance, but it lacked a holistic approach. I appeared marginally better than the almost skeletal state the disease had reduced me to, but the improvement was minimal. Nevertheless, even a slight progress was unquestionably superior to no progress at all.

I’m sorry to say that life retook precedence, pulling me into an unhealthy, stress-filled lifestyle.…

The niggles troubled me over those years, but I didn’t give it much thought as, being young with somewhat better immunity, I had managed to get through them without much ado. It was at this time that I secured a senior position at a health education company, which once again sparked my old curiosity. Once again, I committed to prioritizing a healthy lifestyle focused on a balanced diet and regular exercise, as this was the path I was familiar with at the time.

But after a year or so, I went back to my old ways due to new work pressures and responsibilities. I couldn’t find time to engage in a healthy routine—work took precedence. This continued for some years until…

The human race was struck by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had a profound impact on all aspects of our lives and society in these challenging times.

Thus, it became increasingly important for me, as it is for every commoner to have access to accurate health information and knowledge.

Unfortunately for me, I learned this the hard way as the pandemic took its toll on my health. I suffered a near-fatal health incident. Ironically, it wasn’t the coronavirus itself, but a grave mistake I committed that landed me in hot soup, and bland hot soup was preciously the central portion of my daily diet then as I nursed myself back to health.

During the initial pandemic days, I took a painkiller pill (this particular pain killer, which was advertised all over as being a mild yet miracle pain killer, has been banned since, not on my accord though) as I was suffering from unbearable pain due to a grave overlook on my part and not due to Covid19.

The stupidity on my part was that I took the pill, against better sense, on an empty stomach early one morning.

I firmly oppose the use of allopathic medicine without a doctor’s prescription. I take pride in never making such an irresponsible mistake. However, on that particular day, I succumbed to this error for some unknown reason. Fate!

To add more irony, at the time of the tragedy, allopathy was the last resort for me as I had already switched to alternative medicine.

Anyway, after a little while, I started feeling weird and started throwing up bitter water like crazy. Then, other problems began piling up, and the pain just got worse.

After having very little food, I made a second mistake by taking another dose of medication without considering the time elapsed since the previous one. I hadn’t experienced much relief from the first dose and acted without thinking. 

Unfortunately, this worsened my condition, and I ended up retching more and being very ill, nearly to the point of death.

The first three days were very tense as my doctor had given me only that much time to live with the assurance that if I strictly followed his lead, I had a 50% chance of surviving.

Miraculously, I did and lived to narrate everything, and shortly, I will be penning a book on it.

Amidst the pandemic, based on my experience with the health industry, I confidently strode forward on the path of optimal health, undeterred by minor and major setbacks. Moreover, this significant event opened the door to an entirely new way of life that I seized with determination.

I had to stay ultra vigilant during the pandemic, as my immunity levels were drastically low, and disaster could have happened if I hadn’t. Slowly but surely, I was on my way to achieving my aim despite the many health issues I suffered. The lockdown and difficult conditions left me with no other choice.

However, as the world gradually recovered and reopened in the months following COVID-19, unfortunately, I reverted to my old ways and convinced myself that nothing was wrong with me anymore; it had all been a bad dream. My resolve weakened with the availability of many indulgences that once again opened up.

I admit without prejudice I wilfully forgot about my near-fatal incident and relapsed into my old unhealthy ways, though things were not as bad as they had been previously.

I found myself slipping back into my old habits until Mother Nature gave me a gentle reminder that I wasn’t entirely in the clear as the niggles started to turn nasty. I kept discovering new niggles that I had never experienced before. It was pretty upsetting.

I was left parring with my health problems again and was reminded that I had to revert to leading a healthy lifestyle again.

But the idea that I would have to make significant changes to my lifestyle once again constantly bothered me and my easy-going nature.

This would have also included–

  • giving up on my favorite foods,

  • being more active and maintaining a regular schedule, among other things.

But as widely thought, a healthy lifestyle doesn’t equate to bland food. Let me categorically state here that except for the first few days of the incident, when I had to have mild food (mostly soup) and fruits, I was exposed to a really excellent diet that, despite being simple and healthy for me, was exceptionally delicious.

I will share the secrets to these later in my blogs and books.

However, to experience optimal health benefits, I had to become more active and make changes in my daily life, which, though a bit difficult at the start, became a cakewalk in a few days as they once again became routine.

But getting back to the earlier point, with my health deteriorating once again, I resolved to return to my health regime. This time, I was hellbent on regaining maximum vitality and sharing its efficacy with my readers via my blogs and books.

The book will start as a series of blogs (which you can read right here) and become a comprehensive guide to health for the common people who want to understand the basics of health in a simple, non-academic way. It will include information on easy-to-follow health regimens, healthy diets, and recipes, as well as additional information that would be a good resource for those looking to live a healthier lifestyle.
